SSI DIVE PRO TRAINING

Your path to becoming an SSI Professional

From Divemaster to Assistant Instructor Trainer – all courses, all options, your pace.

The path to becoming an SSI Professional is varied and full of opportunities: You start by organizing dives and accompanying courses, take on more and more responsibility and can later develop further with your own specialty courses or as an instructor trainer. Each stage is a new step towards more knowledge, experience and adventure underwater.
Here we give you an overview of our complete SSI Pro training program.

Divemaster

The first step in your professional career. You will learn how to organize dives, accompany guests safely and support diving instructors during courses – gaining valuable experience for your future career.

Instructor Training Course

Here you become an instructor yourself. In theory and practice, you will learn how to train your own diving students safely and with fun – the key to independently training divers from OWD to Divemaster.

ITC

Divemaster Instructor

With additional specialty courses such as Deep, Navigation or Night Diving, you can expand your portfolio and qualify to become a Divemaster. The perfect addition directly after the ITC or as a later upgrade.

Assistant Instructor Trainer

The next big step: you will learn how to train new instructors and support their growth. You will become a mentor yourself and actively shape the future of other diving professionals.

SSI Instructor Crossover

Are you already a diving instructor from another association? Then you can become an SSI Instructor via a slightly shorter route.

SSI Divemaster: The first step as a professional

Becoming a Divemaster is more than just another diving course – it’s your leap from amateur diver to professional. And you can take the first step today by getting the SSI Digital Kit. This gives you immediate access to all the theory you need – and allows you to prepare at your own pace, long before your practical course begins.

You have two options:

  • Divemaster Digital Kit: Includes the Dive Guide/ Divemaster as well as Science of Diving and Computer Diving – all the theoretical knowledge you need as a professional.

Zero-to-Hero Digital Package: All the digital kits you need on your way from Open Water Diver to Divemaster – perfect if you’re just starting out but already know where you want to go.

When you are ready for practice, you have a free choice here too:

  • Divemaster course: At least two weeks of practice, after which you can stay as long as you like to gain experience. You are “stand-by” for our courses and dives, as long as places are available – and learn directly in real diving operations.

  • Zero-to-Hero Complete Package: Theory and practice combined – all courses, all Digital Kits, your entire journey to Divemaster for €1,500. One package, one price, maximum flexibility.

Whether you are already an experienced diver and only want to do the Divemaster or are starting from scratch and want to become a professional in the long term – you set the pace, we make sure that you are well prepared.

SSI Instructor Training: Many ways to become a diving instructor

To become an SSI Open Water Instructor, you go through five steps with us – you can book all of them individually or combine them as a package:

  • Digital Kits: Your complete theory and documentation from SSI – for Assistant Instructor (AI) and Instructor Training Course (ITC), available immediately online.
  • ITC Prep: Our online preparation course for theory, microteaching and practical basics – so that you shine in the ITC.
  • Assistant Instructor (AI): First experience in teaching OWD courses and Try Scuba.
  • Instructor Training Course (ITC): The complete training to become an Open Water Instructor with several specialties including
  • Instructor Evaluation (IE): The official SSI Instructor Examination with an external examiner – usually directly after the ITC.

The theory preparation is crucial for your success in the ITC. That’s why we recommend securing the Digital Kits first. This way, you can work through theory, standards, and course procedures before you even start – and with ITC Prep, you go one step further: you review diving theory, practice microteachings online, and receive personal support.
The online preparation course is included in all AI and ITC courses with us, but can also be booked separately.

There are two ways to complete your training:

Separate: first AI, gain experience, later ITC. Perfect if you want to take your time before becoming an instructor.

Combined: AI + ITC in a single pass – more compact, cheaper and without long breaks.

With our flexible course options, you can choose exactly the path that suits you – and have all the material and preparation you need for your successful instructor training from day one.

SSI Specialty Instructor Courses

As a diving instructor, you don’t have to teach all courses in the same way as everyone else – you can design your own profile. Maybe your heart beats for cold, deep dives, you want to confidently introduce your students to dry diving or show them the thrill of a scooter dive. Maybe you’re the eco-specialist who inspires enthusiasm for marine conservation with your ecology courses. Or you are the technology fan who safely introduces your students to the work behind the scenes with equipment workshops and compressor techniques.

Each specialty makes your job as an instructor more varied, gives you more opportunities to set your own priorities and sets you apart from others on the job market. Whether you want to work worldwide or build a strong position on your home base – a wide range of courses makes all the difference.

To be allowed to teach a specialty, you always need the corresponding Digital Kit – it officially unlocks you for the course and gives you access to all content and materials.
You can also book a Specialty Seminar: Here, you will work with your Instructor Trainer to develop a coherent course concept, receive valuable practical tips, and have the opportunity to clarify any open questions directly. The seminar is optional – but highly recommended if you want to be confident from the start.

Our tip: With the 5-for-4 package, you get five Instructor Specialties but only pay for four – and make your profile much more exciting and versatile right from the start.

SSI Assistant Instructor Trainer

If you are already working as an Instructor and want to take the next career step, the Assistant Instructor Trainer (AIT) is your chance to participate in the training of new diving instructors yourself.
For this, you always need the appropriate Digital Kit to be unlocked for the course. You can complete the practical training either directly during an ITC by accompanying the entire process, or you can book flexible workshops on individual dates where you specifically develop your trainer competencies.

With this qualification, you will learn how to accompany future instructors in the AI and ITC part, teach theory, guide practical exercises and prepare prospective professionals for their exams – an important step on the way to becoming an instructor trainer.

SSI Instructor Crossover

Are you already a diving instructor with another organization and would like to expand your portfolio by being able to teach for SSI as well?
With the SSI Instructor Crossover, you can do exactly that – without having to learn everything from scratch again.

In the crossover, we build on your existing knowledge and experience as an instructor. The aim is to familiarize you with the SSI system, the digital teaching materials and the specific standards. We attach great importance to you not only knowing these differences, but also being able to apply them safely – both in theory and in the water.

The course is divided into three parts:

  • Theory: Introduction to the SSI system, philosophy and standards

  • Practice: Application of the SSI methodology and teaching in the water

  • Examination (IE): Proof of your skills and certification as an SSI Instructor

Preparation is flexible: You can purchase your Digital Kit before the course to familiarize yourself with the material at your leisure. This saves you valuable time and gets you into training well prepared.
Your kit is not tied to a single center – if you do the practical part in another location, you simply take it with you and continue using it there.
