O2 PROVIDER

SSI O2 Provider: Oxygen for Diving Accidents

Oxygen is the single most effective treatment for any diving accident. Diving accidents are even the only instance where laypersons in first aid administer oxygen at all. For this to happen quickly and correctly in an emergency, it’s worth truly understanding a few theoretical points: Why does oxygen help? How much, for how long, with what system? And am I even allowed to do that?

Your advantage with us: You have contacts. If you don’t understand something, just ask – and you’re sure to get a friendly answer.

Course or Update?

Have you already completed the O2 Provider course, do you have access to emergency oxygen privately or at your base, and do you regularly practice using it – but your certification has expired, or you’ve simply forgotten a thing or two? Then this update is exactly right for you.
If you haven’t handled oxygen in a long time, or have never practiced it, you can complete the O2 Provider theory here. You’ll then need to complete the practical part separately – in an emergency, you don’t want to have to think long about how to use the system.

Tools and Exam

Once you’ve completed all chapters: Click here for the exam. You’ll need your Punkfish Academy account with the booked update.

How the Update Works

  1. Read: The three chapters below – freely accessible, you don’t need an account for them.
  2. Review supplementary material: You’ll receive additional links and tools once you’ve booked the course.
  3. Ask questions: We’ll clarify anything unclear with you – via message or in a conversation.
  4. Exam: 20 questions online, passed with 80% or more. You can repeat it as often as you like.
  5. Confirmation: We’ll register your update with SSI.

Prerequisites: You have already had practical experience with oxygen systems. Online, we can only offer an update, not the full course.

Never handled an oxygen kit before? You can still use the material, of course. However, the complete O2 Provider course requires a meeting where you practice oxygen administration hands-on. Contact us, and we’ll arrange it.

Wishing you lots of fun,

The Punkfish Vero and Dominik
